The Journals Page helps administrators manage and categorize financial transactions. Journals are the foundation of accounting, capturing entries before they are posted to the ledger.

1. Journal Table

Displays a list of journal records with the following columns:

• Number: A numerical identifier for the journal.
• Code: A unique code representing the journal.
• Name: The journal name (e.g., Cash, Bank).
• Type: The journal type (e.g., Sale, Purchase, Internal).

🛠 Step-by-Step Guides

A. Creating a Journal

1. Click Create: Start a new journal entry.
2. Fill Required Fields:
   • Name: e.g., Sales Journal
   • Code: e.g., SJ
   • Next Number: e.g., 1001
   • Type & Type Group: Select appropriate options
   • Default Debit/Credit Account: Choose from list
3. Save: Click Save to store the journal

B. Filtering Journals

1. Click Filter: Opens the filter menu.
2. Choose Criteria: Filter by Number, Code, Name, or Type.
3. Search or Clear: Apply filters or reset them.

C. Deleting Journals

1. Select Entries: Use checkboxes to select journals.
2. Click Delete Selected: Confirm deletion in prompt.

D. Navigating Journal Entries

1. Pagination: Use numbered navigation at the bottom.
2. Entries Per Page: Default is 5.

Q: Can deleted journals be restored?

A: No. Deletion is permanent. Please confirm before removing.

Q: Can I edit journal details directly?

A: No. Journals are fixed once saved. Edit by creating new.
